How can you have new cases when you are all locked down for the last 2 weeks?
GAK67 Report This Comment Date: April 07, 2020 07:04AM
Locked down is not never going out - you can still go to the supermarket,
pharmacy, etc. You're also not isolated individually - you're with those you
live with, so if one of them has it they can pass it on. Also, it takes up to 14
days for symptoms to show, and we've only been locked down for 12. Plus there
are those that our Prime Minister said she would 'charitably describe as idiots'
who break the rules.

They're still allowed to supermarkets etc, nurses giving it to partners, etc I
presume.
It's never been about stopping it completely, just making it so the health
services can deal with it as it washes through. At least that's what we're doing
here. Then we don't have a total lockdown either, just .. mostly. Enough that we
give 16 year olds $1700 fines for taking driving lessons deemed non-essential.

Also if you look at the time you can be A symtomatic,as in the case of one guy
returning from the US,it was incubated in his body for 11 days prior to first
symtoms.
So he went to get tested, because his first symtom was a headache that went on
for a few days,they wouldn't test him because he didn't have a fever,but as
other symptoms emerged, tested again he was positive,so all that time (11 days)
he could have passed it to many. The seminar he returned from in the US had
40,000 attendees.

50 new cases today. The number of new cases each day is dropping. Hopefully
it's a good sign and will continue in that direction. Still only 1 death, which
is amazing given the number of cases.

Only 29 new cases today. Things definitely seem to be improving. The lockdown
seems to be having the desired effect.
