And if Obama would have fucked up (got caught) sure they would go after him. I'm

Here for Trump there is no crime!!! Yes, they can impeach him anyway. But it

Well, they are trying to influence the Senate (won't work) about the trial. And
to do as much damage as they can. So if they have a tooth or a nail left they
will use it.
BTW, there appear to be other legal opinions on the 'transmit to Senate'
component. Judge Ken Starr just called it impeachment with a footnote. The
Senate might just go ahead anyway. We'll see.

Maybe the House did move too quickly. It's now come to light that the White
House ordered the aid money withheld about 90 minutes after the prefect phone
call. Though asking for Ukraine to investigate a political rival was illegal in
itself, and blocking important witnesses with direct knowledge is obstruction,
it was unclear if actual quid pro quo was involved. Looking more like it was. In
addition, the main gist of the defense of the President (other than whining
about the process) is that he asked the favor because he was only interested in
rooting out corruption. Right, the guy who was just ordered to pay millions
because he misused funds from his own "charity", much of which he took
from a fund for veterans for his personal stuff (yeah, he loves veterans sooooo
much), and whose kids were ordered to attend classes on how to appropriately
mange charities, wants to investigate corruption.
