I saw the same thing as fossil earlier but looks OK now. For the last few weeks I've had frequent problems uploading photos, very slow (far slower than when I had dialup) or the page just up and disappears when I click to upload. No problems out of the ordinary on other sites; maybe there's a glitch in there somewhere.

I felt compelled to send the following email to the principal of the local high school: Mr. Shafer, As the parent of three graduates of Charlotte High I'd like to suggest that your current students be instructed in the process of natural selection as it applies to walking to the bus stop in the dark on the roadway rather than on the provided sidewalk. Yesterday in the darkness at 6:40 A.M.

BUTTERCUPS AND GOLF BALLS Towards the end of a round of golf, Dave hit his ball into the woods and found it in a patch of pretty, yellow buttercups. Trying to get his ball back in play, he ended up thrashing just about every buttercup in the patch. All of a sudden? POOF! In a flash and puff of smoke, a little old woman appeared. She said, "I'm Mother Nature! Do you know how lo

As the image files got larger while I still had dialup I gave up on voting because the next photo would often be something I really didn't care to see but might take forever to load so I'd end up going back to the gallery page anyway. Though not blazing, the faster speed I have now lets me move pretty quickly through the voting process so I've resumed it for the most part.

I was visiting my young relatives last night when I asked if I could borrow a newspaper. ''This is the 21st century, old man,'' he said. ''We don't waste money on newspapers. Here, you can borrow my I pad.'' I can tell you, that bloody fly never knew what hit it...

I'm pretty happy with not having the horrendous slowdown that's been happening regularly at this time each week. Guess that should have been under "first world problems" while it was happening.

The images speak for themselves - I can tell whether I like one or not without knowing who posted it. The quality (or lack thereof) or previous postings of the poster do not necessarily determine the quality of the image.

Here's a little factoid for automotive buffs or just to dazzle your friends.. The four Goldberg brothers, Lowell, Norman, Hiram, and Maxwell, invented and developed the first automobile air-conditioner. On July 17, 1946, the temperature in Detroit was 97 degrees. The four brothers walked into old man Henry Ford's office and sweet-talked his secretary into telling him that four gentlem

For canoeing purposes, nautical charts just don't quite cut it and maps don't usually work well for canoeing or hiking. Before my most recent canoe trip I wasn't sure my back could take it but it went well. Since then, though, I've added a removable roller to the back of my utility trailer (remember my mobile office) to ease loading & unloading and today, if it goes according to plan, I'm get

Off the current path of the thread but FYI google earth is back with no intervention on my part. I just kept checking back now & then and a couple of days ago there it was. I'm saving images of possible future hiking & conoeing areas like a madman against the day when it may go kaput again.

Anyone else having problems with google earth? Even with dialup it worked great for years then a few months back I noticed I couldn't get a clear view of the area around where I was born though I could zoom right in to places near were I live with great clarity. Then a few weeks back that all went to a fuzzy green picture covered by countless icons for places and pictures people had linked. I was
