LOS ANGELES - Oceanside resident Peter Robbins -- the voice of Charlie Brown in several Peanuts films and television specials -- was in custody in San Diego Wednesday on suspicion of one count of felony stalking and
four felony counts of making criminal threats.
Robbins was booked into San Diego Central Jail around 3:40 a.m. Monday and held in lieu of $550,000 bail, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department's website, which showed the 56-year-old could be arraigned as early Wednesday morning.
Robbins was taken into custody Sunday night at the San Ysidro Port of Entry, U.S. Customs and Border Protection spokeswoman Angelica de Cima told U-T San Diego.
He was driving a silver 2006 Mercedes-Benz C230 when a border officer referred him to an area for further inspection, she said.
Robbins, who was alone in his vehicle, was arrested a short time later after officers learned he was wanted by the San Diego County Sheriff's Department. He was named in a felony warrant for crimes against a person, de Cima said.
Robbins was 9 years old when he began doing the voice of Charlie Brown for such films and television specials as "A Boy Named Charlie Brown," "A Charlie Brown Christmas," and "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown."
Finally they caught the bastard! Good work border control! They should put these border stops all over america on every highway, then the government can catch these non-taxpayers and put them in jail where they can be used for free labour. What a utopian that would be!
