As I'm sure you've seen, we have a new forum design active now. We thought that maybe adding categories might encourage people to use it more, and would tie in nicely with the addition of categories to the images recently. We've been happy to see use of the forum increasing lately, it's becoming a cool place to hang out.

Let us know what you think smiling smiley

I actually prefered the previous one it was the more simple form of forum i ever visited.Anyway this look indeed great but it is my opinion that Adult section should be one with the General chatter section.

Me no likey. It was cool to be able to see the most recent messages listed at the top no matter what the topic was. Some of my shit spans all of those categories, I'm a nonsense spewing idiot.

Sorry pulse, but I agree with 12079 and DrOKs. It was good with the previous layout to see all the recent postings at the top of the page across all categories. I am sure I will get used to the new layout soon enough though.

Aha! So those weren't error messages - they were a new design! (they looked like error messages to me so I just reloaded the page many times hoping you'd fix the problem)

With the previous design I got an overview over everything. To check the current situation I checked the time, clicked "reload", then compared to the times in the column on the right (and I suggested somewhere else how that could be simplified...). If there's nothing new this method would require one mouse click and one memorized time stamp (or just one mouse click if you were to implement my suggestion).

With the new design I'd have to check a bunch of different sub-categories. 1. Click to category, 2. Check category, 3. Click "back", 4 continue with the next category.

< tries that >

It took 12 clicks (and I'm *not* going to try to memorize six different times!). It's not as if you had a thousand active threads at once...

(then there's the web design discussion that turns into a porn discussion or the porn discussion that turns into a political discussion, or the newbie who places his celebrity question in the art category...)

Just a slight issue with the new forum design. From the Forum main page under www.plus613.com it says that the last post was by DrOKs at 3:22pm, Feb 3rd in thread New Forum Design (this thread). As you can see above the previous post was not from DrOKs and not at 3:22pm. The posting by DrOKs at 3:22pm was actually in the thread 'Why did you come here? Why do you stay?'

Cough Cough, it's nice to get such positive feedback.....

*GAK67*, thanks for spotting that rather large bug but the forum code went through test and verification so no blaming me. smiling smiley GAK67's bug is fixed and the forum will now also take new forum topics into consideration if there the newest in the category.

In a effort to give something to everyone we will re-create the traditional style for the old-skool. Just hold out for it.

However, we're obviously sticking with categories so the plus613 forum can grow, so any other suggestions? Or any category suggestions?
