Are piracy and revolution getting soft?

Then again, the pirates sold the journalist for money, the revolutionaries used theirs as a bargaining chip, so it made perfect sense from their points of view. What use are the illegals to the new administration? Disgusted stories by deportees will spread a message, so it makes perfect (if indecent) sense.
