Seems the caption makes it quite clear who's in the pics. So the point of this
attempted slam is what again

I'm off work sick today so I figured I'd look into this one because I have
nothing better to do.
Apparently the guy is standing on a "family values" platform, but has
no family and lives alone with his dog. So in order to appeal to the masses, has
borrowed a friend's family for the photo shoots.
Okay sure. Who cares? I guess the thing is HE didn't say that, it took the
internet and media to point out the fact he doesn't have a family and all the
"happy family" pictures were him trying to paint a picture of his life
that doesn't exist. The caption in the images is from NY Times, not from his own
media team.
Meh? A politician lying? Fuck, say it ain't so..?

cares about family values but doesn't have a family...
like he never did?
was he born in a test tube and raised in an orphanage?
I know a bunch of dudes that love college football but they never went to
college themselves...
I know a bunch of people that support gay rights even though they aren't gay
themselves...
etc etc

Yeah, but it's the dress up component.
Your mates who love College Football; did they also go and get themselves a
period correct team kit? And arrange a photo of themselves, wearing that kit,
with the players of the team and put a sign up saying "We love the team of
'99"?
That's a closer analogy. If he's not trying to hide the fact that it's not his
family, where's the father in the happy family snaps?

Sick day pulse? Seriously?
Sick days are for children (or Gen Z).

My boss has always said "sick leave is for when you're in hospital, just
take the day off".
He's really good like that.
So that's exactly what I did. I didn't take "sick leave" as far as the
company is concerned. I effectively just didn't show up and nobody cares. It's a
nice situation.
With that said I have more than 1000 hours sick leave. I may as well take some,
they won't pay it out when they get rid of us. But it's nice to have.

I'm just fucking with you.
Yes I think that only loosers take sick day but I have always been able to take
a day off whenever I wanted and that is apparently a rare thing.
I have had many days off but never called in sick.
I work for the gov now and I can have 20 days off each year (if you are prepared
to lie, you don't need a medical certificate for 10 of those days).
Thank you taxpayers of Australia!

"Why BUY when you can RENT?"
Okay,I was hoping someone would more clearly say it's optics. He looks like he's
posing with his family but it's not his family, and the point of him posing with
these people is to make it LOOK like he's a family man. (Sure, he is! Just not
his own family.) Makes me think of how Dave Barry said of sugary cereal ads
instead of saying "part of this complete breakfast" they should say
"photographed near this complete breakfast."
