Not correct.... inaccurate, misleading, and massively overly simplified.

Yes, the sun provides the main energy source for our climate but does not entirely control it. What also contributes in huge ways to our climate is planetary albedo (reflection of light from clouds and water), atmospheric and oceanic distribution of heat, and atmospheric make up (such as greenhouse gas trapping heat). Climate is about energy balance, not total energy input.

On that last one, if people don't believe that the atmosphere affects climate then look at Venus. It get's about 1.9x the solar radiation we get, and with a similar atmosphere it should be a balmy 60 degrees C average. Instead it's wrapped in a thick layer of CO2 greenhouse gas and averages around 450C.

This image is like saying your furnace controls the climate in your house without taking into account insulation, open windows, heat schedule, circulation, etc. Leave all your windows open in January and then tell me your furnace is entirely controlling the climate in your house.

I ain't reading all that.
The only thing between us and the sun's radiation are clouds.
NOT atmospheric gases, they make fuck all difference.
Clouds however, they control the climate of the entire planet.
