If you aren't talking to terrorists then why worry about it. I have absolutely
nothing to hide.
Mrkim Report This Comment Date: May 12, 2006 03:53AM
Sorry to say jgoins, but I bet at some point something could be said by you,
taken completely out of context and then turned against you, so don't kid
yourself.
Since we're well aware of your stance on minorities, how about if a conversation
with a friend were used in a case against you regarding racism or civil rights
violations, when no one was ever even harmed, or any actual illegal act
perpetrated by you or the other party in the conversation. Or .... how about
after that conversation, the other party DOES perpetrate some act, perhaps even
unbeknownst to you, but since the topic was discussed in a monitored
conversation you're now percieved as an accomplice to that act ?
The part that really bothers me about this whole concept is that it's in direct
violation of our constitutional rights.
Secondly, how often is it that manipulation of power tends to be used in
"other" ways (like I mentioned above) once the baseline is considered
accepted ?
I'm against anything in direct violation of our constitutional rights, no matter
by whom or for what purpose.
Errosion is errosion no matter what pespective it's viewed from.

jgoins .. they are not only interested in terrorists. they are interested in
all conversations by random people. They are running conversations against a
word database.
If you say something about 9-11, terrorism, bomb, etc. then you will get a
visit.
You could be a dope smoking good for nothing like shaDEz having a conversation
with a friend on the phone about a tv show or movie and you have trigger a
response from the NSA. That is BS and a violation of the law.
I can see why the Founding Father thought the 4th amendment was a good idea.
These NEOCon fucks have to be driven from government at all cost.

Here is Aus there's a poll on my ISPs web page, unscientifically small scale,
bur revealing nonetheless. Figures so far show that the proportion of Aussies
who are in favour of proposed national identidy card is >60%. Seems that we
have been scared by the terrorism threat too.

I believe the photographer of this photo has the wrong President in focus.
Washington was a true American Patriot fighting for a just cause, Bush is a
President still looking for a just cause. Invading a country without the UN's
final say is ludacris. If 911 started this whole thing, then maybe people need
to ask more questions about it. I ran upon this video, that I found interesting.
Maybe somethings are stretched, most of it will leave you wondering if you were
told all of the truth. Check this out.

I never worry about phone conversations because I never say anything on the
phone whic could be taken wrong in any context. I used to work for GTE in the
70's and I know how easy it is to listen in on conversations on the phone so
since then I have always carefully worded my conversations both on the phone an
in personal contact. Before I say anything I know what reaction all my words
will get before I use them. Now I only use cell phones and because of scanners
and the costs of cell phones my conversation are short and to the point then
over. I never say anything that I wouldn't say in public and infront of all
kinds of people. This is the way I have conditioned myself over the past 30
years and that will not change because of the NSA. I am known around here by
all who know me as an honest person to the point of pain. I am not worried in
the least about the NSA gathering data about phone numbers being called or even
if they should decide to listen in on my conversations, I will bore them to
death.
