Looks like a summertime evening where I live. I'm not on a canal but they're all over the place in here.

Looks like Flo-rider.
Saw a good "Salvage" video of them getting a few boats out of those canal-side pools after a bit of wind.

Upon looking at it again, in Florida the pools and houses wouldn't be built that close to the canal per regulations and almost every pool has a screened enclosure over the pool we call a pool cage. I was focused on the sky and water. Back in 1987-1991 my job at a pool cage builder was designing the cages to fit the pool & house per regulations, getting the building permits from the applicable city or county, and assigning the building of the cages to work crews.

Sylvania Waters NSW is like that but it's got older buildings and infrastructure.

Are we talking pool fencing quasi or glass house like structures?

Aluminum framework with attached screening. Search Florida screened in pool and you should find tons of photos from companies that build them.

Woah, isn't that overkill?
I thought you were a free country.

Only fences are required but most people have these because the insects are very bad here. It's quite an industry and almost unique to Florida. It paid my bills for several years until the recession during the administration of the elder President Bush ended that job. Since I've been an adult Republicans have always crashed the economy and this time they're bringing it to you due to high fuel prices courtesy of a not well thought out war. You're welcome.

This isn't one of mine but both before and after my time supervising pool cage construction (after trying to find other employment I had to go back out in the field using my building skills to support my family despite having had a laminectomy in 1989 which eventually led to a second surgery and disability, but yay, Republican economies) I built many of these rooms including the aluminum roof though most with no windows, only screens. The most challenging of them was with windows on a half-circle concrete slab - getting the right roof slope on angled, rectangular sections was difficult and forty years later I can't remember just how I did it, but the customer was very happy despite being a Karen. Now that I think about it, I need to go see if it's survived the hurricanes over the years.
