No doubt people did this but it's highly unlikely Jimmy Carter himself circulated such images the way Trump does. His latest meme sharing is of himself on the cross, head slumped (napping maybe?), wearing the crown of thorns, with the caption saying, "They're persecuting Donald Trump more than they persecuted him." Of note, any real Christian, besides being appalled by the image itself, would know that when referring to Jesus Christ, him should be capitalized.
