Yep definitely remember (just..) big macs in Styrofoam containers. Dennis Leary did a song about them.

Definitely don't remember drinks coming in them though.

I recall these bottles, from a long time ago, 40 years? I used to peel half the styrene off, then wiggle the rest of the styrene down the bottle, then slammed the bottle into the palm of my hand, forcing the label back up the bottle and compressing the trapped air, made a huge bang, used to scare my girlfriend doing that.

I remember those bottles. I also remember when bottles were returned to receive a small refund of a deposit, 5 cents where I lived, cleaned by the bottling companies, refilled, and resold. Kids, me among them, would scan roadsides for bottles people had tossed out to return them to the corner store to buy candy, snacks, or maybe a fresh bottle of soda with the refunded money.
