I worked at Hertz Rent A Car for a couple of years about ten years ago. While
there I learned that different automakers have different ways of resetting low
tire pressure lights, some only need to be driven for a few minutes after the
tire is properly inflated for the light to go off on its own while others have a
reset switch. On a couple of occasions customers returned cars with low pressure
lights on and I found 80+ psi in tires that required 30 to 35 psi because
instead of checking the manual to find the existence of the reset switch the
customer had just kept stopping to add more air trying to make the light go out
on its own.
