Those jobs went to China, South Korea, and elsewhere because of capitalism, pure and simple. I'm not against capitalism but the pure greed version of it has sold out the American lower and middle class for the maximum benefit of shareholders and turned China into the economic juggernaut it is today - American capitalism built the China we see today.
