Over the last few years, Miami has had frequent floods just from high tides and
the little town where I live which sits where a river meets a harbor that is off
the Gulf of Mexico now often has street flooding from the normal summertime
downpours that are unable to run off because the tides are so high. Last year
the historic part of town and downtown nearest the river flooded several feet
from storm surge caused by back to back hurricanes, a first here. This shit is
getting real.
