If someone calls anybody a "NAZI" and they can't tell you what
N.A.Z.I. stands for...tell them they are only showing their ignorance. NAZI is
actually an acronym.

The idea that the NAZIs were socialists as the name falsely implied shows your
ignorance.
pulse Report This Comment Date: March 06, 2025 01:49AM
Sure, it's an acronym; but it's also a term that was taken on to describe some
specific ideologies and actions.
Like the Brits don't vacuum their floor, they Hoover it. Over time words take on
definitions on their own, regardless of original intention or meaning.

Where do we find these fucking idiots.
NAZI does not stand for anything.
It was a term coined (probably) by Winston Churchill in the lead up to WW2 and
the newspapers back then effing loved it.
Nobody in Germany used the term because it already was a derogatory word for a
clumsy-clutz or a peasant.
But it worked, the German Socialist hated it and nobody in Austria (yeah
remember that annexation?) would dare say it out loud.
By the time the krauts invaded Poland, it was just the buzz word for anything
German, they were the enemy, they were NAZI's!

Damn krauts be all sour.

NAZI is the abbreviation of Nationalsozialist, German for National Socialist.
woberto Report This Comment Date: March 07, 2025 07:36AM
Not an abbreviation, not an acronym just a made up word.
If it is an abbreviation of anything, it's an abbreviation of the male name
Ignatz in German.
But back in those days Germans did not like abbreviations because they were just
a little bit too proud of their language.
Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterparte is the full name and it would be
said like that and printed like that at all times during the 20's and 30's.
