what would the world say if an american,or any non-muslim attacked a civilian
target such as this?

yeah its not likely that the JI would attack something or allowed to be
attacked anything in one of their main countries of operations (indonesia and
malaysia) that would cripple the economy for fear of backlash from the
predominatly muslum community

if an American non-Muslim attacked a civilian target like this one?..
some of the Muslims would say that it was a covert/clandestine operation
initiated by the USA and it's western (and Israeli) co-conspirators..
the USA would deny all knowledge whether they did plan it or not.. then
earnestly track down the culprit/scapegoat and hand him or her over to that
nation.. likely to be executed..
i don't think the government would intervene in his or her trial/execution
because there would be very little popular/political support for them State
side.. and it would be a bid to appease moderate Muslims in the region (no doubt
the world)..
but of course such posturing would do little to placate the extremists.. who
can find a conspiracy anywhere they look

These so called extremists are full of shit (forgive my French).
If they were truly extreme in the practise of their religion then surely they
would be extreme in all aspects of it, not just the part that appeals to them
(even if it is not really part of it as some people suggest). This would mean
that the world would be a much safer place for us all BECAUSE of these
extremists because they would show an increase of love, kindness, compassion for
their fellow man. Because this is not the case they are terrorists pure and
simple and are just hiding behind the name of religion for pretection (which
makes them cowards). They are no different to terrorists/cowards we have had
here for a long time known as the IRA. Just my opinion, for what it's worth.
