Overall it is, I suppose, but having been through several hurricanes, there are
some glaring exceptions.

We don't have anything that bad where I am so I can't relate, but when storms
do bring down lot's of trees the SES (volunteers with chainsaws and cranes) cut
them up enough to clear buildings, fences, paths and roads, then people with
their own chainsaws came along and took the firewood. That's happened twice in
my time and now the council doesn't plant trees on two corners near the skate
park - solid hardwood trees came down twice. Wind's a funny thing: the two
other corners at that intersection have trees and... no drama.
