This is a fundimentally flawed argument. The fact they they didn't stand says that, yes, they are aware. However it doesn't confirm that they condone it or aren't actively working against it. In fact it more likely infers the opposite, that they are aware of the inequality and more likely to not condone it. The people who would need to be educated would be those who stood up.
