Hmm. Some of the formative music of my youth.

I'm not quite sure about the best albums of all time, however definitely some massive bands involved.

Metallica black.. yeah that's a good one.
Pearl Jam Ten.. Yep that's pretty ace.
Guns and Roses Use your Illusion 1 & 2 - together there's some awesome songs. Enough to make a brilliant album. But separately, they're both okay because there's a bit of filler.
Red Hot Chili Peppers.. some great songs, I dunno about awesome album. I saw them live in Feb, had free tickets, they've held their sound nicely.
Soundgarden had better albums.
Nirvana Nevermind. Right up there. Awesome album. I'll pay that.

What it does show is a solid progression from metal to grunge. Maybe instead of best albums of all time it should be considered a critical phase of 'rock' music.
