So, the memorial was 8:45am and lasted about 3 hours, so you couldn't do anything else for the whole rest of the day. The fight started at 7pm that night and Joe was probably in bed already. I don't blame Trump for not going, they all hated him (the Obamas and Bidens) , and he would have had to sit with them. Screw that I wouldn't have gone to be near them either.

It looks like you missed it, he met with New York firefighters and policemen on 9/11. So he did more than 1 thing on the 9/11 anniversary, funny that never made it in the mainstream media.
