That right there is why there's a shortage where I live. Our fuel doesn't even come from the pipeline that was shut down but a lot of yayhoos were out there filling multiple cans. And of course there are other yayhoos blaming it on Biden. Floriduh.

If there's shortages, surely there's a limit on the amount you can get?

We haven't had many shortages, but the last one I remember I think you were capped at 30L or something. You certainly couldn't sit there and drive away with about a thousand litres like it looks like they're doing.

This is 'murica, Pulse, where you can't get people to wear masks or not shoot each other because they've got "rights". Those "rights" also include buying all the fuel you can carry and, for fuel station owners, selling every drop you've got as quickly as you can. There'd be war in the streets if you took away the "right" to hoard or sell as much as possible.

I have visions of some people living around me with sheds full of toilet paper and petrol. On the plus side, we're about to enter hurricane season when it's good to have a generator and a supply of fuel for it so some of these people might actually be ready instead of emptying the fuel stations with a storm about to hit. I still have a few cans I laid in last hurricane season that I'll use and replenish over the next few months.

stocking up/ hoarding toilet paper, gas, oil, guns, ammo, + tons of other tradable in case of disaster is nothing but smart.
i love it how people make that seem like a crime when THEY get caught with their pants down.

There's stocking up as I do for hurricane season and panic buying when there's no reason to panic. The people where I live are just panic buying idiots.

toilet paper, paper towels, diapers( old and baby), toothpaste, deodorant....to name a few

while rolling more cigarettes.......
