I took care of my mother who had dementia for four years before she died and
watched as she first began showing symptoms for a few years before that. You
don't know what you're talking about.

Living for years around someone who's has dementia makes you pretty good at
spotting it in others. There are signs. Not long after my mom died I noticed
early signs in my cousin who today, seven years later, has had to be put into
center for people with the condition. Experience counts.
