And there were no selfie sticks back then either, so whoever took the pic had guts of steel too.
Safety gear was optional. You either did the job, or the Mafia would have you conveniently replaced.... so to speak.

Not sure how they took the pic but the crane operator would have been well below where this cat's standing and problee far enough away he couldn even see what's goin on at the tip of his jib so he was being signaled by radio.

Think about it this way, what could the crane be sitting on above this point?
