Bandwith caps suck, mine's 10gb a month, up and down combined. Luckily they
don't tack on extra fees if I go over, they just slow my service down to dial up
speed for the remainder of the month, which has happened 3 times so far ... and
yeah, I HATE it when that happens
But, from 12 midnight to 5am my usage dudn count against that limit so I just
stay up late and DL like a fiend then. I know my satellite ISP iddn stellar
but I can steadily hit between 2 and 5mbps DL speeds during those hours.
Ask me if I miss my unlimited but steady 1mbps I had with my old DSL, all things
considered .... yeah I do

Isn't it sick (the bad way), that millions of people can watch a totally a
senseless video within a couple of days, but a couple of million people can't
just start boycotting companies for their flagrant rip-off sessions..... if a
company started losing a million people per month they would change their ways
(anti-market retention), real quick.

Things are mostly okay in .au these days. Prices are still much higher here
than in much of the world (eg at home I have a 20mbps down, 2mbps up ADSL
service, business grade, 8 IPs, uploads uncounted and 400GB download including
unlimited national calls + mobile for $129, or about $140 USD/mo) - but I'm
happy enough with that.
Gone are the days when I worked at ISPs in the late 90s and wholesale bandwidth
costs that the ISP was paying were around $0.25c per MEGABYTE on our multiple
2mbps E1 bonded lines.
Ah those were the days.
