Whingeing Ozzies now!!
So complacent, took their eye off the game and got stuffed!!!
Incidentally, where are the Kiwi's on that list?

Kiwi's were 3rd on that table - 1 medal per 340k population. In fact we almost
got as many gold medals per capita as Aus got total medals per capita.

The sign was done by poms in London.
Statistically it's kinda lame.
It would be more interesting if it showed the size of the contingent.
That would be a useful success ratio.
Even in America & Australia, most of the population couldn't give a shit
about sports or athletics.

If it wasn't for the Scotts, Welsh and N.Irish, "Great Britain"
would've scored nowhere near as well. England did fuck all comparatively
(especially considering population)

Total bollocks pulse, you're talking out of your A hole.
Yorkshire, ( just a small part part of England ) would have qualified 11th in
the total medal table on their own, let alone all the other 'English' medal
winners.
Do some research.

I can't be bothered looking up the stats but I stand by my statement. If you
can tell me that English athletes scored 12x the medals of Scotland (note I said
by population), 20 times the medals of the Welsh athletes and 34x the medals of
the N.Irish athletes I'll eat your hat.

Statistician Brian Dawes has formulated the only true and just statistical
representation of Olympic medal performance.
Dawes calls it the MAP methodology.
"Based on a crafty combination of medals won, athletes in your team, and
your country's population, I am pleased to advise that the real winner of the
London Olympics is Australia!"
Using the formula, medals won multiplied by athletes in your team divided by
home count population (MAP), here are the top four:
1. Australia 632
2. Great Britain 565
3. Hungary 268
4. Russia 250
Team USA scored a measly 175, and China only 23.
