I currently have a 5mps dl speed and it still takes 2 minutes to load. I know, I got a crappy ISP. No other choice around here.

Da fuck!? What are you using, a 1200 baud modem? At 56K dailup a 19.7 MB file should only take about 50 minutes, maybe an hour. You must have a LOT of line noise, Quasi0!

Actually it's reader 10 at 106mb. I get about 41 or 42kbps which sucks but unless I want to pay Comcast an arm and a leg it is what it is. One of these days the phone company might get something better out here at a reasonable price - they have it in the area, just not here yet.

Keep the faith quasi. When I moved here it was dial up or satellite .... an I waddn payin $100 for satellite.

We finally got DSL 2 yrs ago but still will be years away from ever seein FIOS

That sucks Qausi but I know the words to that song. I finally decided to go for DSL after it came out here and still not entirely sure it's worth the cost. $66/mo for the phone and lowest speed DSL w/wireless modem which is just gonna get slower. ISP said I've been getting faster speed than I'm paying for and there gonna throttle it back. Oh well. Everything is a ripoff these days.

You can probably get similar results without installing any software, just use a faster public DNS server in network settings.
