The airplane most famous for being used in the Dolittle Raid in WWII. Normally
a land based plane, some of these were stripped down to save weight so they could
take off from an aircraft carrier yet still couldn't carry enough fuel to return
to the carrier after their raid on Japan, the first by the US on Japan. They
flew on to China where many of the pilots survived though some were killed and
others captured by the Japanese. I think it was about ten planes that took part.

Was just driving past our little local airport and big as billy-be-damned there
was one of these sitting there between some hangers. It had a tarp over the
cockpit and nose; hope it didn't get damaged in the hella storm we had last
night.
