I'm kinda ambivalent on the whole wikileaks deal. On one hand I like the insiders view on the bullshit within the govt and their dealings with foreign powers it offers, which is definitely drawin back the curtain for a well needed reveal on what goes on there. On the other hand, the obvious intent of leaking secured documents is still criminal though I have a hard time in placing it in the category of being an executable offense for having leaked this stuff.

It seems there's more potential for foreign and US officials havin to wipe lots of egg off their faces and many international diplomats and politicians review how they perceive one another in light of statements that have been now made public than anything like US national safety having been put at risk.

But ... anytime you make a buncha powerful dignitaries look like the self serving loons they truly are, that in itself's gonna put you at risk from lotsa different sources.

I do have to wonder what kinda hole cards Assange and Manning might be holdin that have kept the heat off of 'em for even this long? Similarly, I've had to wonder if maybe the reason no prior action was taken is because they had such a hole card which has now been found and its effects neutralized, allowing the powers that be to finally move forward with prosecution.

Same thing I'm wondering??? but in the end Manning will probably get "Life" and Assange will get "Hit" ...

I don't care one way or the other what they do to him and wikileaks because the stuff they leaked has not interest to me. Now if they had leaked what the government is hiding from us on UFO's then I would be interested. So far everything they have leaked comes as not surprise to me anyway. Come on wikileaks tell me something I don't know.
