Caligula had a severe case of lead poisoning that caused him to go completely
insane.

Caligula's "insanity" is not a historical fact, but an assumption by
his enemies and choice historians.
also the T in James "T" Kirk came from his father Tiberius.

Caligula's father was Germanicus who was the nephew and adopted son of Tiberius

I was watching a show about him on T.V. and they were talking about they way
they kept the wine back then in lead lined jugs.
They did some testing to find out how much lead would end up in the wine, and it
was a lot, even more than they expected.
Caligula is rumored to have been a heavy drinker, and if that's true he ingested
way too much lead, which would lead to insanity.
To the show I was watching it explained, at least to their satisfaction, how he
could have gradually gone from reasonably sane to a complete nutjob.
