About twenty years ago I was out on a wild creek in my canoe and when I stopped
for a few minutes to stretch my legs ashore I saw a very fresh paw print as big
as the palm of my hand, and I'm a pretty big guy. I didn't stick around.

About 30 years ago I was camping at Lake Ouachita and heard one scream one
night. Sounded like it was on one of the nearby islands. They sound almost
like a woman screaming.

When I was a teenager, our family was driving through the woods of eastern
Oklahoma and we saw one leap the 2-lane highway in a single bound. I'm sure it
wasn't, but it looked like it was 20 feet long, tip to tip. One of the
half-dozen or so times I ever heard my dad say a swear word.
