ploppin down a big pile o cash to be able to herd that thing off the lot

gas tank inlet under rear fold down license plate.

It's the Family Truckster!!
I thought in the movie, the gas went in on top of the front fender.
(Clark ripped the license plate off trying to find the tank
when he saw the person next to him flip down their plate.)

The car was designed by George Barris (famous for other Hollywood custom cars
such as the Batmobile, the Monkeemobile, and many others) and was deliberately
designed in bad taste as an absolutely ridiculous station wagon, and as
over-the-top as possible.
