On the Impossibility of
Limited Government… …It is necessary to recognize that the ultimate
power of every government – whether of kings or caretakers – rests solely on
opinion and not on physical force. The agents of government are never more than
a small proportion of the total population under their control. This implies
that no government can possibly enforce its will upon the entire population
unless it finds widespread support and voluntary cooperation within the
nongovernmental public. It implies likewise that every government can be brought
down by a mere change in public opinion, i.e., by the withdrawal of the public's
consent and cooperation.

so public opinion never went against Bush? No matter what you think of Bush,
pro or against, you can't honestly say public opinion was always with him.
Disproves that theory, methinks.
DarkKlown Report This Comment Date: November 05, 2008 09:21AM
Not really. People don't believe they have a need to revolt. They just need to
wait 4 years. It's why government is structured this way. If you give people
belief that change can happen they will ignore the fact that it never does.
jgoins Report This Comment Date: November 05, 2008 11:41AM
If you thought things were bad before just wait and see how they get the next 4
years, if he makes it to office. Race relations will sour even more then it is
today. Al Queda will grow and we will be attacked again because we will become
an easier target now. What rights we have left will be taken away. I hope you
enoy what comes next.
Lexx Report This Comment Date: November 05, 2008 12:52PM
Everyone seems to want to blame Bush for the problems with our economy but few
seem to realize the president doesn't have nearly the control over things that
congress has. The real cause of most of the mess we are in started when the
democrats took control of congress. Now that we don't have a republican
president to veto them things are really going to get screwed up.
If people think Obama will keep his promises and not screw them over and tax
them heavily they are deluded. Promises made to get in office are almost always
broken. The only people that aren't going to be suffering soon are the lazy
freeloaders on welfare.
When the terrorist organizations and enemies of America all endorse a candidate
was it really a good idea to have elected him?

^^^^ Whoever the fuck YOU are, since you're to damned weak in your convictions
or your statements to at least put any sort of name to your thoughts, all I can
say is Good Luck Motherfucker, the same thing I say to ALL Americans as this
particularly shitty turning point in our country^^^^^^^
If there's any sounds of be heard today in relation to Obama having won this
election it'll be the sound of all the intended benefactors of his
"redistribution of wealth" shit collectively rubbing their hands
together in anticipation of what that will mean for them as they lounge about in
their federally subsidised houses eating their meals bought with other taxpayers
$$s while good ol John Q gets to head off to work so he can pay the fuckin taxes
that support these folks. Oh, and these are the same taxpayers who would be
deemed inelligible if they were in turn to need assistance. If this seems a bit
odd or outta whack, ask anyone who works for the Social Secirity administration,
they know tons about such racial discrimination when it comes to who can or
can't collect benefits!
The only other sounds to be heard today will be the muffled sobs of the rest of
us who will be saddled with paying for these grandiose schemes and programs, but
workin for a livin dudn leave a lot of time for such stuff, hence the "near
silent" part.
Small business owners will damned sure be even more worried today as they look
to a future fraught with more governmental intervention and taxes/expenses,
wondering how many people they might have to let go to make it all work out or
if there's any real possibility of survival of their business at all with this
"new sheriff in town".
I mentioned before that I wish we as Americans were progressive enough to have
elected a minority for President, which seemingly we now have done, but ... that
OBAMA was not the one for the job, and I stand firmly behind that statement

Obama is a scary mutha fucker.
from obamas book
"I ceased to advertise my mother's race at the age of 12 or 13, when I
began to suspect that by doing so I was ingratiating myself to whites."
"There was something about him that made me wary, a little too sure of
himself, maybe. And white.
It remained necessary to prove which side you were on, to show your loyalty to
the black masses, to strike out and name names
I never emulate white men and brown men whose fates didn't speak to my own. It
was into my father's image, the black man, son of Africa, that I'd packed all
the attributes I sought in myself, the attributes of Martin and Malcolm, Dubois
and Mandela
Barack sux my caulk
quasi Report This Comment Date: November 06, 2008 10:25AM
PW, I'm obviously no fan of Obama, I too think he's a scary dude, but the
comments you posted above were taken out of context and really don't hold a lot
of water. I got that email too, several times. There are enough reasons to
believe the guy is a liar and a fraud without digging things out that can be
discounted and therefore make all arguments against him suspect by association.
jgoins Report This Comment Date: November 06, 2008 12:54PM
Well Obama attended church for over 20 years where the preacher was clearly
racist and his close friend, why would we not know he is racist? During the
election the media kept telling us it was not about race and now that Obama has
won race sudden comes to the foreground. If the election was not about race
then why does race matter now? I get tired of hearing what color his skin is
every time I turn on the TV. This will do nothing but open the divisions wider
between the races. More is made of his color and very little about his
platform.
Lexx Report This Comment Date: November 06, 2008 01:17PM
After reading through these comments I realized something.
The ones uncomfortable or wary of Obama as president, Republican or not are the
only ones who were able to, or at least attempted to make an intelligent and
explained argument to back up how they feel.
The ones that support him or at least in this case condemn the detractors can
only seem to make short immature jabs (like the one FatMex posted) or they
resort to swearing and name calling without even attempting to prove their
cases.
I think that really says alot about this election and who was blinded and
ignorant enough to vote for him. How people could ignore the overwhelming amount
of warning signs that this guy could be trouble and fell for lines like
"change", "Mc Cain's just like Bush" and "you'll get
money!" shows how easily bought most of the American public can be.
I've never been called racist and I don't consider myself one. To me this has
nothing to do with the color of Obama's skin or his ancestory. To me there are
too many other reasons to be concerned about the next presidency for race to
even be an issue.
I think if everyone who posted here took an IQ test and then a poll about how
they feel about Obama we would see a clear trend developing.
the anti-bama Report This Comment Date: November 06, 2008 02:03PM
one does not need to prove a case, the facts are there. Obama is nothing more
than a terrorist empatizer as well as a lying piece of shit when confronted with
his associations, religion, platform, campaign lies. same shit they all preach
when running for office. "change" "cnange"
"change", nothing ever changes
never!!
all you Obama supporters have been tricked, lied to, and now are being laughed
at by the rest of the world.
