While the ocean vessel 'Dawn Raider' was commercial fishing shrimp, this Great
White was hooked in the mouth but only resisted slightly for 15 minutes
before it came up alongside the boat to have a look; long enough for one of the
crew members to slip a rope a round it's tail !!! 'And that's when things heated
up!!
.. The Shark took off towing the 42 foot fishing boat backwards through the
water at about 7 Knots. Just like in JAWS, the boat was taking on water over the
stern and the crew watched in horror as the shark would actually jump completely
out of the water at times. This went on for an hour before the shark finally
drowned. She weighed in at 1035 LBS. It is suspected she followed a weak El Nino
current into local waters in search of food. Although mid 60 degree water is
considered ideal for these sharks, the larger ones can tolerate water in the low
50s.

if they caught the shark in U.S. waters they will be going to court- not eating
it. White sharks are a protected species.

Didn't Mythbusters determine it was impossible for even the largest shark to
haul a boat backwards hard enough to make water come over the stern? They
pulled it with a tank and something like 3? 4? tons of force and couldn't do it,
which was many times more force than any shark could possibly generate. Nice
looking shark though!!

Here we go again the shark gets the bad rap.. How come us humans take take from
mother earth but give nothing back.. Did you know we kill over 100 million
sharks a year mostly in asia for the shark fin soup. Cut the fins off and throw
the live animal back into the water to drowned.
Ive been scuba diving for over 25 years around the world and our oceans are in
a very sorry state. I just came back from Roatan Hondruas and made 18 dives and
did not see one lobester. They were fished out 5 years ago by Red Lobester
Restraunt.
It seems are short term gain$$ is more inportant then what will we leave are
children to see and there children. As for my shark dive and being up close to
these animals was a very rewarding experince.
I thing everyone on the plant should take up diving and they will understand
what im talking about.
OH yeah one day Red Lobester restraunt will go out of businees because there
will be no more sea food left in our world oceans.
