i think i've seen this before, but cannot remember the story. i believe it was an old watring hole that some critters were bogged down in some thick mud. this kind of find is awesome because it is like a snapshot in time....multiple animals and if you're lucky some plantae as well.

# 1 looks like a woolly rhino and #3 could be a baby triceratops.

ah....found it. i was wrong, it is a volcanic ash bed in nebraska. kinda like pompeii.
