From the popularity of the stained glass image above, we have continued to
search for little known religious art which may interest our visitors. This
second image was found behind the plaster in the workshop wall of Sandro
Botticelli. There is a similar painting in the Sistine Chapel without the
spaniel. Art scholars believe that this was the original painting destined for
the Sistine Chapel but rejected by Pope Sixtus IV della Rovere. Scholars say
that in this painting, Jesus shows his love for Peter by letting him walk his
dog.

Walk the dog? Did Jesus have a yoyo too? Damn! Oops, I mean DARN! Could he make
it go to sleep? Duh, what was I thinking, of course the Son of God could make
His yoyo sleep, probably while walking on water.
I used to walk on water when I was a kid. I lived up north and every winter the
lakes would freeze over and........
I tried to turn water into wine once too. I wonder if my buddy Jack ever got his
sight back?

Jesus never had long hair.
Mrkim Report This Comment Date: October 09, 2007 10:47PM
Hmmm ... I'd be interested in anyone who would take a stab at proving Jesus of
Nazareth ever even lived at all ...... with long OR short hair. Historians from
that period seem to have totally omitted any mentions of "The King of the
Jews" which certainly seems odd to say the least.
"Faith" was a song by George Michaels and such concepts hold no power
without empirical backing to bring them into the realm of something a song title
by Jeff Beck called "Truth"
Just for fun, the same challenge above applies for Buddha, Allah, Mohammad any
whatever other saviour/prophet one can name. Come on zealots, here's your call
to duty !!!!!

it has been proven that there was a jesus of nazereth as well as pontious (sp)
pilot, but not that that jesus was the one in question.

Hadn had a chance to hit those links yet fossil, but here's one I bet you might
just take issue with too.
I would REALLY like to know how the Christians can find scientific backing for
their claims of the earth only being 6,000yrs old ? Anyone who can stand as a
Christian and tackle that argument while maintaining plausibility would sure be
doin a pretty fancy jig

fossil_digger Report This Comment Date: October 10, 2007 04:52AM
that arguement always pisses 'em off.

I understand and agree with your frustrations about "Christians" and
I agree with you even though I consider myself a Christian. Main stream
"Christians" have twisted the message of Christ so much to their own
ends it's sickening. Blind faith without reason and literal belief in everything
in the Bible is ridiculous but worst of all is the belief of so many that think
their belief makes them better than people of other religions or homosexuals or
porn stars or whatever. At the risk of sounding like some latter day hippie,
Jesus, whether real or fictional, is about peace, love and tolerance, something
many people who think they are Christians are in short supply of.
That said, the peace, love and tolerance end when people start hurting other
people; then it's time for the strong to defend themselves and help the weak and
put a quick end to those whose mission it is to bring pain and suffering. I'd
love nothing more than a world without violence and war, I think that's what any
reasonable person of any faith or no faith at all hopes for, but evil exists in
the world so good people will always be needed to fight that evil, not for the
sake of any religion but for the sake of all mankind.

Except for the Christian stance quasi, we are in absolute agreement
BTW, the 1st go round old hippies cut their hair to avoid the hassle, but the
2nd go around we began to loose it altoghether, huh bro
