the Gods" by Graham Hancock and "When the sky fell" by Rose &

The Aztecs were drug-addicted snake worshippers who sacrificed human beings on
bloody altars. They even held sporting events where the losing teams were
slaughtered. Basically, they were a backwards and blodthirsty culture.
They did achieve some impressive feats of architecture and accurately predicted
the solstices -- but their ancient knowledge is no more insightful than modern
science.
Every generation seems to think that the end of the world is going to occur
during their lifetimes. People were freaking out in 1899, just like they did in
1999. But global climate changes and other civilation-destroying events don't
operate on our timelines. And the sun and stars do not revolve around the Earth
either.
If the apocalypse is on its way and there's nothing anyone can do to stop it --
then why worrry about it? What will be, will be.

Doesn't our Sun have a polar shift like every 12 hours? I understand that the
polar shift is an on going event to our planet.
BlahX3 Report This Comment Date: March 06, 2007 02:02AM
Read the polar shift thing before. Interesting. We'll see what really happens.
So called experts in computer science predicted a major clusterfuck with the Y2K
thing, too. Ooooh! I'm still shaking from that one! LOL!

I believe it is more widely known as the Mayan calendar. Perhaps they are the
same. Perhaps they very inaccurately predicted their own demise.
