Instructions for use: Be sure to apply to a very hairy location so you can
really feel like a man when you pull this bandaid off.

Yep ... electrical tape works in a pinch too! Bandaids are for wimps

Strapping tape and a paper napkin work well.

Thursday before last I cut the fuck outa my let thumb on the inside of a
computer case. We tried napkins and white plastic tape, paper towels and
adhesive tape, More paper towels and scotch tape, but the fucker kept bleeding
like a butchered fucking pig. I had an EMT and an RN look at it they said to go
to the ER. Drove my own mutilated ass to the ER, bleeding all over the fucking
place and got at least 4 stitches. Kinda ruined my whole day. And the next day
it was even more painful. I get the stitches out tomorrow morning. Perhaps this
could have been avoided if we only had some duct tape band-aids at work.

Nah, that sounds like a job for superglue.

The best trick for gettin a cut to stop bleedin is pullin the wound closed,
somehow, no matter how you get it done & paddin it with somethin to help
keep crap outta the thing. If you can't make it stop bleedin, then you're gonna
wind up needin stitches.
From years of mechin the backs of my hands, wrists and lower arms are riddled
with scars and only once have I ever gotten stitches. I damned near cut off the
lil finger on my right hand by the 1st knuckle, so it took 4 stitches to get
that fixed up

Quasi is right, superglue is the best immediate solution.
It also stops most of the pain because the nerve endings are no longer exposed
to oxygen (which is why a paper cut stings so much).
For a decent gash however, you'll be left with an ugly scar, unless you close
the wound with stitches.
