DiscoPants, I am glad you put the 'almost' in there. From an outsiders point of view, Liverpudlians and Geordies seem to be the hardest to understand, unless you are talking about the entire UK, and then Glaswegians are the most incoherent. Rhyming slang is not limited to England though, some Sydney (Australia) residents also use it.

I live about as far from Europe as you can get, so my comments should be taken lightly on this issue, but we do face similar questions here as well. I think Europe needs the EU for economic reasons. The reduction of trade barriers, the single currency for ease of trade between countries, and the sheer size of the market all mean the EU is beneficial to all countries involved. Where the problem
