Meh, after many hours fargin with CentOS I installed Ubuntu 12.04 and lo and behold, all the permissions issues went away. Dunno WTF CentOS's problems were related to but I'd just grown too frustrated dealin with it to care anymore. It made absolutely no sense how the permissions controls could have evaded command line manipulation with root empowerment. The whole reason I'd decided to switch

Well, I finally dumped off Ubuntu for a new OS, CentOS. haddn had it loaded up but for a few hours so far but it seems quite doable. My Ubuntu 10.10 was outta updates and some stuff had stopped workin so I figured it was time to try somethin different. There is so much data related to "climate change" that seems at best, tainted and agendized it's hard to accept their findings and clamorings as any different than the many other shrill campaigns flying around. Everything from sensor data placements in auspicious places, collected data being manipulated and the constant outcries from CC supporters about this or that impending catastroph

Doubt all you care to dude, some schools, like the one I attended, actually do educate their students. And no, it wasn't some silver spoon private school either, though it was ranked in the top 5 scholastically in the whole state at the time, it was still just a public school However, having watched my 2 daughters go through school the whole process has been so dumbed down comparatively, i

Nescafe manages to arrange a meeting with the Pope at the Vatican . After receiving the Papal blessing, the Nescafe official whispers 'Your Eminence, we have an offer for you. When the ship made it into port, a young sailor asked his well seasoned mariner buddy if he'd give him a tour of the local hot spots, so off they went. As they walked along the young sailor pointed out a hot blond and asked "Ever slept with a blond babe like that?", to which the old hand just said, "Sure, lotsa times.".
