That's a real shame, I liked your stuff. It's always nice when people upload great content to offset the porn. Feel free to upload anything anytime

1114. Re: Merch
We've considered it, as a way to supplement donation income (of which there is .. well .. none) and try and cover some costs. What sort of merchendise would people be interested in? What would you like to see if we made t-shirts?

Erm, I removed the "blue nude" one but I've lost the number of the other (and I think it's still on the site), so if you could let me know what that was again. I guess we could do a "remove image" thing for registered users, but it's not really a huge priority. We're happy to remove things if you want us to.

The classy 24 hour establishment on the corner of Elizabeth and Flinders Lane. It's always been a bogan shithole but they've done it up in the last month or two and it's .. less of a bogan shithole but still not a nice place to be

To blag something is usually to steal it.. that said, if you "blag some concert tickets" means you've got them for free. Generally slang for getting stuff for free, but back in the day it was theft.

Please people, When you're categorising an image, PLEASE try to put it in the right category. Although you might hate the porn, and think you're doing it damage by rating it as "stupid" or whatever, you're not - all it means is now the porn will display in the "work safe" category. Please don't fuck it up for everybody. I've just had to go through and reclassify some 70

Rather obviously, revert, darkklown and I are from Melbourne, Australia. I've posted a few pictures of the storm in Melbourne on Feb 3, 2005. The worst rain on record (150 years), the coldest February day on record (13 degrees celcius (55f), following 37 degrees (98f) the day before) - it even snowed in some parts of Australia (don't forget it's the middle of summer here). In one day, we had t

I =think= the 132 is the total amount of points your images have been awarded (each star = 1 point, a 5 star vote = 5 points, etc). It's not the most meaningful statistic on earth, but there you go

As I'm sure you've seen, we have a new forum design active now. We thought that maybe adding categories might encourage people to use it more, and would tie in nicely with the addition of categories to the images recently. We've been happy to see use of the forum increasing lately, it's becoming a cool place to hang out. Let us know what you think

Consider how much information has been posted to this thread since I did that test I dunno. Anyway I still don't care about the bandwidth at the moment, that's a problem for a couple of months from now, but if we do have to get the new server (which it still looks like we do) then the data problems are automatically fixed. The problem is still I/O load.. And it's rapidly approaching 2am

The thumbnails on the image pages are only loaded if you mouseover on them. However, I'll concede that I forgot about the JS and CSS files.

Anonymous@199228 posted on February 1, 2005, 7:06 am Hang on! You're looking at this* page?! A *text page! I'm talking about those other pages that people come here to see, the heavy pages with the big images. Those are a lot bigger than 12kB. -- If you re-read what I wrote... Then I did a wget on a random image, 8694, and the HTML for that page worked out to be under 8KB. -rw-r--r--

Was it a page with a large number of comments? My numbers sure as hell don't match that Ultimately, server side, the size of the HTML is irrelevent. Apache generates the HTML from a couple of PHP scripts. It's all in memory and doesn't really touch the disks. The only thing that uses the disks, and causes I/O load, are displaying images and logging hits into the access_log, and occasional

That's odd. Wget just grabbed this current thread, and including all the text above it's still less than 20KB. -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 20392 Feb 1 06:45 232 Then I did a wget on a random image, 8694, and the HTML for that page worked out to be under 8KB. -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 7528 Feb 1 06:46 8694 The #plus613 logo at the top of the page was even more surprising. -rw-r--r--

You're right, however because we've spent hours developing a feature DOES mean I don't want to just throw it away. Bandwidth use isn't causing the too many connections problems. That's just ANOTHER problem that's coming soon, and that is automatically solved by the new server as it'll come with more than 2x the data allowance of what we have now. And when I say 600GB, I meant in images. Down the

I can't speak for the others, but I believe there's been far too much work gone into this site to start stripping it apart to its basic components. All the features on the site have been requested time and time again, it's taken thousands of hours of development time, and I'd hate to see it ruined. At the end of the day, aside from a handful of SQL queries, your stripped site is still going to ge
