I'm not sure if animated png's work (should).. if you have a image that should upload but doesn't work (a actual image, rather than using the url for older members) email me the image and i'll take a look and figure out why it wont upload.

If you locked the system down to be a purely htpc you'd have enough interest that you'd be able to generate a steady income from sales. At a later date you may think about expanding the system to be more extensible, but for now.. KISS.. Your biggest hurdle on a system like this is going to be price. Try and find a motherboard that has everything possible onboard. The more cards etc you have th

xmbc is seriously the best piece of media center software around.. (vista media center? lol) it has a quick dev cycle and supports everything and then some.. lots of cool scrapers etc.. if your going to build custom hardware it's a hands down winner (you'd HAVE to run linux on something like that)... that all said 8G seems like total overkill for a pure htpc.. 4G would be TONS.. if not 1-2.. also

I used to have the same kinda setup as pulse (xbox) and i recently purchased a hd200 from sagetv. The hardware is fantastic with only a few problems. 1) The software seems kinda under developed. Things like scrapers aren't present and if you want that kinda functionality you need to use the sagetv server software (i'm using the hd200 in standalone mode streaming video from an attached 1tb usb

129. Re: login
The login process uses 2 cookies and sometimes they can get out of wack, Orlando is correct in saying that if you delete all cookies related to this site it should purge the problem. Also confirm that you login and surf from the same url. ie plus613.net and not plus613.com or plus613.net and not www.plus613.net some browsers act silly when you change the hostname and don't pass the cooking back t

The voting system is meant to be users choosing what images stand out among others. Unfortunately me and pulse disagree if this should

I've banned aol email addresses as people are unable to read the big bit of text under account registration that says aol have banned us from sending email to aol addresses because aol users who signed up here marked the confirmation emails as being spam and I'm sick of getting bounced emails about it.

Internet hosting is a funny thing. The bigger you get the cheaper it is to run your sites. The people who pay the most are the smaller sites (i'm talking users accessing your site / cost to run). The hardware has all been brought and paid for during our last hardware expansion, the hardware is also enough to cope with 3-4 times the amount of load the sites experience. So growing the sites even la

woberto: I was just looking for a quick way to do predictive spelling for people who want to search but can't spell (logged in users). I might get rid of it if people don't like it. If you all notice we have new logos (may require a shift-reload) if you look at the home pages of the sites (http://plus613.net/). You can see some groovy animation. Unfortunately it appears that the animation does

Can someone explain to me the mentality of americans when it comes to a FLAG.. it's just a flag.. yes it represents the country but people seem to go crazy over it more than they do for the ACTUAL country.. that same vet that cut the flag down in that youtube video probably has littered in his lifetime, has poured non biodegradable chemicals down the drain any other things that technically hurt t

OpenID is something i'd like to eventually move this site to using. It's a way of allowing you to signup to any site that supports openid without having to have a login to each site. Basically how it works for us say, is a user comes to the site, tries to login, if the login doesn't exist in our local user database, we ask if the username/password exists in the openid database, if it does they gi

I've stopped the tagging of gif's for the moment. When i have a bit more time i'll fix it up so it brands multi-frame gifs and keeps them as multi-frame gifs.

I'll look at making the image more transparent. As for using plus613.net and not #plus613 we own .com and .net and you can't have # in a url so it's not rocket science for people to guess the url. Also it's about branding more than actual image containing the url addy. And for those interested the selection of the corner where the branding takes place is based on which corner is 'less
