mkcerusky: basically when someone (registered users/anonymous) votes for a the image your looking at, and gives it a 3 or higher rating, and then goes onto other images and votes for them it creates a list of images the user liked. when other people come along that box pops up with a list of images that people liked who also liked the image your looking at.

I'm currently working on such a feature. You should also be able to be able to select the categories that you wish to view by default, and give more personal statics than the current /uploader/ page. Something to stay tuned too. Thanks for the suggestion however.

I don't want to add too many categories as it'll just complex things for the users.. grouping is a good idea however and i should get around to doing that soon.. the order of the categories atm is set to when they where added, so yes when new categories are added they will appear at the end.. i agree with you this is prob a bad idea.. but hey i'm lazy..

On another note: I've changed the images to scale (within the html) so we should now not have to scroll across the page to see super large images, i'm keeping the source image the same size however so loading times on super large images that are uploaded wont be improved. Maybe it's time you upgraded your internet connection if images are taking too long

199228: You can only put a image into 1 category, if you change your mind and put it in another, your old 'vote' is updated to show the different category you put it into. Yup.. whatever category has the most amount of votes for a image, that's the category the image will appear in. So if 5 people vote for the image to be in 'Landscapes' and 6 for 'Animal' then the image will go into 'Animal'.

Ok categories have been introduced to the site. I still need to make some pages that will let registered users limit the stuff they see, but you can now goto the gallery and only show certain categories. And when looking at an image you can put it in a category. Enjoy!

The idea behind it switching to the next image is to promote voting. If it stay'd on the same image after a vote you would have to goto the gallery to see the next image, which would be a pain for alot of users. We don't want to restrict users of the site. Also it's not hard to say put a extra full stop or some other char in a message to get around checksumming things like that. We do have access to the database this site is run from, so if some chooses to repeat a message 100000 times it's just a few quick keystrokes to delete them all and ban the user.
