Hi all, It seems that animated gifs are playing funny buggers with php5 (we upgraded php over the weekend and have made changes to use new imagick extensions for thumb generation) I'm aware of the problem and will fix as soon as i have some time, in the meanwhile you'll just have to put up with the large thumbnails it generates in the gallery.

I was thinking awhile back to setup something along to lines of allowing users with high points to be able to do such a flag system but it never came about. Personally i hate when i see things like racist comments etc on the site but am loathed to remove them (unless they are really bad) because it's hard to draw the line of whats acceptable (have a bad enough time with images let along txt) and

We kinda already have that. In the 'taskbar' you have 'my image comments' that's not password protected for you only, you can look at any users comments etc. It's a bit annoying in that you have to edit the url path by hand, but i dont really want to clutter up the UI with icons next to peoples names with all the options that people might wanna see. eg url: on another note, where

The ascii view was just something we added when we first started. It's just a thing that converts images into html code. I've been meaning to disable it for awhile now. Thanks for reminding me I've just removed the link from the image view. You can still see this wonderful piece of code in action by going to /ascii/

btw i would suggest that you uninstall the mysql client and install a package called 'wampserver'.. it is apache/php/mysql all bundled together and i'd also suggest you install phpmyadmin when you first start learning mysql as it is all point and client but shows you the commands it's running on the sql server so you can learn to do it quicker.

how are you running the mysql client? you should prob run it with something like 'mysql -p ' giving it the password that you gave the installer for root when you installed it. Under unix you can have a .my.cnf file in your home directory where you can list your password to make it so that you don't have to give it on client startup, unsure if XP will have something similar.

You could find that your browser has the page (uploader) cached. Once you look at uploader if you go back into the forum does it still say your logged out? I can't replicate your problem so fixing it if it's an actual error could be quite difficult. Is anyone else experiencing this?

This has now been resolved. It's caused by the software that creates thumbnails, for some reason it crashes on certain pics, and the thumb generator tries to create thumbs for all pics without thumbs after someone uploads. So once it starts crashing it will continue to crash until a admin notices it and fixes it, which usually only happens after users complain! =)

Ummm you shouldn't get a 'connecting' message. Im guessing the message your getting is for something entirely different.
