True, but remaining uninformed or getting false information is far from ideal. It's hard for an intelligent, well informed person to be happy in any era. I look back at what my parents went through, world wars and the great depression, wonder how the hell they got through that, but also find that reflecting on those times helps me realize my own situation is comparatively much better which keeps me from being as bitter as some of the willfully ignorant folks are.
