Yep. But it shows that lockdowns etc would've worked if we did it properly, globally.

Australia and New Zealand, as well as all the pacific islands (+ other places) completely eradicated COVID last year. It's still eradicated in half of Australia, unfortunately the Eastern states are having an outbreak (small by global standards, 1500 cases per day over ~18 million people). It came in from an international flight again.

We had cases last year, it got to something like 20,000 active cases here.. but through lockdowns and control measures, it was eradicated. If the world actually worked together for once, and every fuckwit wasn't complaining about their sovereign rights, whatever they are; then we'd have had 2-4 weeks of lockdown period and all could've got on with our lives.

Instead we have to deal with this global shit show. Humans are the fucking worst and frankly deserve to die.
