The OP implies that questioning nothing will mean you remain terrified and stay home. When it comes to covid, it's when I question the behaviour of some individuals, their selfishness and lack of responsibility to others in society, that makes me more terrified and makes me want to stay home and away from their stupidity even more.
And Charlie Says has a line in their comment "Remain passive, cogent, and afraid". In my experience people who are afraid don't remain passive, at least not for long, especially cogent people.
