Actually, USA is the current Olympic Rugby gold medal holders - having won it in 1920 and again in 1924 when it was last an Olympic sport. That will change in 2016 when 7 a side rugby will be included in the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games. NZ has a good chance of winning that (they are current 7's champs and have been 9 of the 12 years it has been run as a world series) but it almost certainly wont be USA.
