I've run across just a few IE only sites, ones that will work ONLY with IE, and every time I encounter one I always write their IT department a note to let 'em know how short sighted and rediculous their position in doing so is.

I haven't used IE in nearly 5yrs now for anything BUT such sites and when I do have to use it on my XP machine at work I have to enable it 1st because it's locked outta the system otherwise.

I used to run Firefox exclusively but really like Operas features and speed, so I've been runnin it for the last year and 1/2 or so. It plays really well with Ubuntu 8.10 eventhough FF is the pre-loaded browser and has been since at least 6.06.

MS's dominance is dwindling but it will be quite a while before anyone will ever exceed their level of domination in the software world. Their recent patent application for the concept of rent-a-wreck/pay-as-you-go monthly service fee for a MS supplied machine kinda shows a lot about their mentality and could well just push more users to explore other options, just like their clusterfuck over Vista did too.

The MS fanboys can be easily spotted and they're still thick as fleas on a mangy dog in the computing world where they can be constantly heard singing the praises of their proprietary software gods as they whole heartedly parrot the corporate MS line, but the open source crowd gains new members about daily and it's steadily chipping away at their grip on the computing world
