Hey 90130, ever run across a Spyder version of the 3000GT-VR4 ? Electric hide away hardtop convertible, like the old Skyliners it electro-mechanically folds the hardtop into the trunk ? That is one truly rare car ! A buddy of mine had one he bought off of Eddie Balfour. It was the cat shit! Looks like a totally different car altogether than the typical 3000GTs since it has a wicked "bubble" hardtop roof. It looks more like it ought to have a Ferrari logo on on it
Sadly though because of the sheer weight of these models, even in V-6 twin turbo trim, the Eclipses/Talons/Lasers with either the 2.0 4g63ts or my specialty the g4cs/4g63t 2.4 hybrid turbo motors always take top 1/4 mile honors at the DSM Shootout held in Ohio every summer.
But .... I've always LOVED the look of these cars
